The Groible is a parasitic species that lives in its host's colon and consumes fecal matter. When it matures to the adult stage, it lays its eggs in the host's intestinal wall, dies, and dissolves into a nutrient-rich plug that blocks the host from defecating the eggs out before they can hatch. The host is not likely to survive the resulting constipation. The Groible larvae eat their way through the plug and hope to swim into still water for a chance to infect the next host that enters the pool. Groible are also intelligent.

When we discovered the Groible, we initially treated them like a disease and nearly eradicated them from the wild, but Troy "Commander Commode" Sines had the idea to incorporate them into the sewer system. He tied Groibles into the sewer such that they could only reach and enter the anuses of anybody who sits on a toilet. Once the user stood up, the Groible was yanked from its warm buffet. The result was none of us ever had to defecate again.

The Groibles often protested their treatment. They demanded to be allowed to live out their life cycle. They even tried to organize strikes. Inevitably, though, when one of us sat on the toilet a Groible would be there. When one complained and griped as it crawled inside, it was tradition to reply, "eat my shit."
